I really need to leave

Middle leadership. School is not working out for me. I’ve given it 9 months and now mentally I’m at a breaking point and can’t do it. I’m just entirely unsupported. Left to do things and as with anywhere minimal thanks at the end. It’s okay but the vicious behaviour is what I can’t cope with.

Help? Please help? I just want out of here.

Do you mean that you have missed the deadline to leave, wishing you had resigned in May?

Hand in your notice and go at Christmas.

My worry is, will the roles be available. I’d also like a small step up. If not it’s not the end of the world. But I realised I can’t stay when I broke out in a
rash from stress and had 2 cold sores. Yet I still dragged my stupid self in.

Yeah I wish I did. I’ve not been here years and years. But I realised in weeks of starting when I first joined. I made a bad move. I could push through like I did at my last place bur something is making me feel that’s not a good idea.

You have two options as I see it:

Option 1 and probably the better option:

You can try to recuperate over the holidays, get better and start again in September after a break, with the intention of leaving at Christmas. Get your notice in before October 31st, and look for other jobs. If things get too bad again, go to the doctor and get signed off for your notice period. Ideally, get another job before doing this.

Your other option is, you go and see your headteacher, tell them how you feel, and asked to be released from your contract.
