Substantiated outcome

Hi,

I have received a substantiated outcome from LADO but no further action regarding an incident. Plus no further action from the school. Will this prevent me getting jobs in future? I have spoken to my trade union rep and they are helping me get an agreed reference.

TIA

I don’t think anyone can say as we don’t know the nature of the incident. But I would think it would be mentioned on a reference.

Given that referral to the LADO will likely have been a conduct issue of a safeguarding nature, yes, this will be referred to in the reference as the allegation has been upheld.

Are you sure the school isn’t carrying out its own disciplinary investigation? This would be normal practice.

Have you been advised if the school is making and referral to the TRA (or other professional body) and/or DBS?

All of these things could prevent you from working in a school or other childcare setting.
