I went into teaching with several other women we all trained together. I was 10 years older and a single parent (to my knowledge my ex didn’t cheat on me). We were all friends I didn’t socialise out out with them so much as I was a single parent so no babysitter. So I’m now 50 plus and heading into retirement. I met someone (non teaching) and he was widowed and we got married 10 years or so ago.
All of the 3 others, were married and had their children primary aged or above and supportive husbands. All 3 wanted to be heads and we adamant this was the sole ambition. Although we were friends my life was different as I got a deputy headship and then moved into a private school, I met my husband and have scaled back my days.
The 3 other women were very forceful in nature all 3 also became deputy heads in the last 2 years or so. All 3 have had affairs with their headteacher and left their husbands for their line manager. Two of them have children aged 18 and upwards and have had babies within a year of starting the affair with their new partner the headteacher.
eg Feb 14 celebrating anniversary with husband, end of Feb instagram celebrating drinks with the best head ever, followed by photos of Easter holidays abroad with new head, changed name to maiden name following week, pregnant at aged 43 about two months later and baby born end of January.
shift the dates a bit and other friend does similar with her head and again pregnant at 42.
third friend does the same and is engaged to new head, not pregnant but started at Easter and left her husband by May half term (!)
All 3 women started affairs within weeks of moving to new schools as Deputy Heads. All 3 male Heads seemingly happily married and had children and now living with affair partners (and young babies).
Is this something I have missed?? Maybe as single parent I never looked at work. For all 3 I think wtf? What happens now - I guess none have done anything illegal (these are all secondary schools) so governors or academy trusts have no action to take.
