I don't know what to do and need some advice. My supply job has been difficult from the start. A colleague was rude to me leaving me in tears The kids have no routine or structure. The children work on paper not in books . The children rip paper up or throw it around the room. The work set is either too hard or repeats earlier lessons. Had a horrendous lesson earlier this week. Kids refused to follow seating plans and we're openly rude. Rang agency in tears. I think I want to leave but am scared to. Need some sensible advice please

The biggest benefit of being supply is being able to ring up your agency and saying you are not returning to that school, and then don't.

Leave immediately. On Monday, say you're ill, ring in sick. Give it a few days, then, tell your agency it's chaos, the behaviour is appalling and it's affecting your health. My experience is that your agency will soon find you something else. You don't have to give notice. Get out of there.

You need to get out of this environment. It’s toxic and the good thing for you is that you are on supply so you aren’t contracted to a specific school.

can you not speak to your agency and see if you can be re-deployed elsewhere?

Thanks for your support. I've taken the good advice and have a new job starting after Easter. The agency were very good and have found me something else. Fingers crossed, it'll be more straightforward!

Glad to hear it. The great thing about supply, is you are in charge. The supply agency just want the money, so redeploy quickly. Get out of bad schools. 😁
