School Opening Hours

What is your school’s opening hours for staff during term time, term time weekends, and school holidays? Does a senior leader/DSL have to be on site whenever the site is open, or only when children are on site?

School is open from 7-7 weekdays. Someone from the premises team will be onsite but not necessarily SLT. School is rented out on a Saturday but staff can't go in and there are designated days during the school holidays we can go in, again SLT not necessarily in

Primary school, open 6.30am - 6pm term
time, open later if there is a governors meeting / parent meeting. Open 6.30 - 5/6pm school holidays. Closed weekends, unless there is a PTA event in which case staff could go in if they wanted. No need for SLT to be present.

Site open from 7-7 most days, although if I need to be in later, they lock my building up last. It's closed at the weekend.

DSL on site from 7.45-4.30, broadly. Kids are generally off site after 5.

Holidays are much shorter hours.

Why?

Small school, all teachers have their own key and can come and go as they please. Either after school club staff or a teacher locks up at the end of the day. It's really handy in the holidays in terms of being able to go in when it suits you (ie when I can get childcare!).

No staff go into school over the weekends, although it does have other agencies in sometimes.

Holidays - usually open first 2 weeks and last 2 weeks of summer hols. Occasionally may be open during other times but staff rarely go in during those times.

SLT not always in.

Open 6.30am - 6.30pm Monday- Friday apart from when there is an event on (parents evening/drama performance etc) then it’ll be open later.

Closed on weekends. School holidays open 8am - 5pm.

DSL only has requirement on site when students present.
