Observation

Head did a planned observation on Monday - he thanked me and then left the classroom. I didn’t receive any feedback until an email at 5pm yesterday (Friday) asking can we meet next week to discuss feedback. Now I have all weekend to worry about the feedback! The lesson I feel went okay but it does not stop the worry. I was observed last year and I never received any feedback at all apart from a thank you.

I'm not sure I would see a problem here- I would always expect feedback from an observation otherwise it's pointless. Maybe next week was the first time they could fit it in?

Also an email at 5 pm on a Friday makes me think they had a busy week, this wasn't desperately urgent so it was a mopping up task at the end of the workin week.

Thanks for the perspective. Last observation I had no feedback apart from a thanks so I am thinking is this feedback going to be negative.

I thought feedback from lesson observations was supposed to be given fairly quickly afterwards, within 24 hours. At our school it's given on the same day (where possible)

I thought so too but not from this observer hence the delayed worry and stress
