Staff punctuality tracking

Does your Business Manager/HR Manager actually track staff punctuality? If so, how do they do this? What are your consequences for being a little late?

We sign in and out so they could keep a little eye on us on there if they wanted to.

But in our school as long as you’re in by the time the kids are, there’s no issues. And if you were going to be late (as in, after pupils arrive) you’d have to ring and let them know so they could make sure there was someone to stand in for you.

No. Small school so would be obvious to everyone if you were late. In fact the Business Officer herself is late quite frequently, but always texts to let us know.

We sign in on an ipad so it can be tracked that way.
We do line up so it would be quite obvious if someone was late.

It isn't routinely monitored but if someone is noticed, it would be looked in to.

A member of my department is often late. First step was an informal conversation with me but after that, it would escalate to HR if no improvement.

Good old fashioned paper sign in/sign out book.

They call late anything after 815am at my school. As long as the job gets done and ye learning isn't impacted then it seems to be ok in our school. Noone takes the biscuit and gets in late and leaves early. Those that get in early leave earlier, those than get in late leave a little later. We all essentially do the same length of day. No consequence (yet) if a little late.
