Hi,

Just wondered how many lessons of Maths you teach each week?

Currently, we do x 4 hour lessons following White Rose, 2 x arithmetic with a focus on MTC and morning tasks.

We have been asked to move to 5 x lessons per week and this will obviously impact foundation....

We teach maths everyday, so 5 days a week. In the early morning work during the register, the children also practise the 4 operations, MTC and times tables rockstars. Fitting in the whole curriculum is a huge challenge though.

5 maths lessons a week in the morning - 1 arithmetic plus 4 White Rose.
Early work is either SPAG or core arithmetic skills.
Every maths lesson starts with Tough Ten arithmetic practice (about 10 minutes).
10 minutes after lunch questions that develop fluency - recap of prior learning to keep skills ticking over.
