How much marking!?

This is what I have to mark before next Friday

Year 11 60 papers 1.5 hour exam (have done 45 and have 15 left) subject 1
Year 9 32 top set subject 1
Year 8 28 Subject 1
Year 8 20 Subject 2
Yea 7 28 Subject 1
Year 7 15 subject 2

193 paper plus year 11 have a QLA for each question

I decided to mark some all paper 1 and colleague do all p2 for year 11

Plus next week year 10 have 2 exams each so another 50 paper

Some around 243 paper.

Year 11 take 10 mins to mark each including QLA

I only work 4 days and get 2 hours PPA.

Why?

Why end of year tests within a threee week period

Bit of a ridiculous workload — why the need to mark presumably before the end of term? Why can’t this be extended to the second week of January?

Seems a lot for a part time teacher. I suppose you could spend a couple hours per evening to clear the smaller amounts and then do the large amounts of marking in PPA?

It doesn't have to be done before Xmas the deadline os the 10th Jan
I think it's down to being really busy at home, not feeling great and all my colleagues marking them for the next lesson which I usually do. Also a bit of inefficiency on my part not marking when others are doing tests!

I've told the students I've not marked them and they won't be done before Xmas.

I've brought a some home to do this weekend - I'm fine about it now.

To be honest mine isn't too dissimilar

30 x3 sets Y11 mocks = 90
28 Y7
30 Y8
32 Y9
28 Y10

It's ridiculous to have all end of terms tests and mocks in the last couple of weeks of term.

You have my every sympathy! No idea how or when I'll get them all done.

Yep same marking load for me! I hate data drops! They expect tests on all the years at the same time and deadline to mark it the same time. 300 odd essays, just a nightmare
