Which union?

Been out of the classroom for a while but back now. I always used to be NUT, then NEU, but not sure now- they seem quite keen on identity politics and I’m not. I’m below 0.4 so don’t want to pay huge amounts. Which union would you recommend, please?

The one with an active rep in school

I’ll ask, but I suspect it’ll be a case of “the college doesn’t recognise unions” like in my last place 🙄

There should be a union notice board somewhere. My head would love to not recognise me but I make myself highly visible!!

We’re all in different departments- it’s very separated. Each department caters to a different group of learners. It’s not a school. There isn’t even a proper staffroom, people stay within their areas so I don’t know staff not in my section.

You could contact the regional centre for your area and ask if there's a school rep for your school. I'd imagine they'd be able to tell you that

Thanks, maybe I’ll contact NASWT

That would be my strong recommendation 🤣
