The STRB recommendations have been accepted as expected https://www.local.gov.uk/our-support/workforce-and-hr-support/education-and-young-people/school-teachers/school-teachers-14

However we are being told that this is too late for November payroll and we won't get it until December which seems harsh given that it was entirely predictable that this would happen.

Curious as to what other schools/trusts are doing- anyone getting it in November as expected?

We have been told they HOPE to get it paid in November, we shall see!

CandyCane457 · 08/11/2024 16:46

We get ours in December, we did last year too. I don’t mind as we get paid on 15th so it feels like a nice Christmas bonus!

Teachers in the 43 Sixth Form colleges that have not academised are the only teachers not to have been awarded the pay rise.

We've just crossed the threshold for strike action.

PensionPuzzle · 09/11/2024 08:39

I had no idea about that @Lemonsole , I wish you all well with that and hopefully sense will be seen quickly by the powers that be!

What's their reasoning to not award it?

Nobody really knows. Initially it was assumed to be have been an omission, but the government doubled down and said that it had to wait for the Autumn budget. The sector is such a tiny, tiny proportion of the overall budget, yet there has been no movement, so it looks like we'll be taking action later this term. The vast majority of colleges in this position will see members on strike. It's the 43 Colleges that didn't become academies that are affected

We've already had the pay rise. Back pay for September went into October's pay. However those going up the pay scale are having to wait until November for that.

JaffavsCookie · 09/11/2024 16:10

Sorry to hear that @Lemonsole , that’s really poor of them.
we are expecting it in our November pay.

We've had confirmation this week that we will get the pay award in our November pay, backdated to 1 Sep for teachers and 1 April for support staff.

Lemonsole · 20/11/2024 17:36

If you have Sixth Form Colleges in your area, check whether your colleagues there will be taking action on 28th November. There's a big rally in London and we hope to raise awareness of our being left out.

We got our back pay today!
