After another long day... (And very long term so far!)

Please recommend me some really comfortable shoes. I spend all day on my feet. We are not allowed trainers. Also need withstand duty outside.

I've had some Sketches on the go dreamy night out and found the back too hard and they gave me blisters without tights.

And I have wide feet!

Please Mumsnet save my feet!!

I got some sole flex loafers from Matalan The tassel ones - they are so comfortable I got the other patent pair they are really comfy. I did size up l so you may need to try a couple of sizes.

My dr martens are in the bin. (Not really they are being sold tho!)

I do struggle with shoes though so not fussed on where they are from as long as they fit and a comfortable

I would usually get a 6 wide but for a 7 and they fit perfectly. I have PF and Osteoaethritis in my big toe(s)

Teachymummy · 30/09/2024 19:20

@liquidsquidli by PF so you mean plantar faciitis?

I have this and am finding it tricky to find school shoes I can fit my special Insoles into. I like the look of the Matalan ones but I've tried similar (from Clarks, m and s and hotter) but when I put the insole in it's as if the shoe is too shallow?

I'm currently wearing trainers but don't feel very smart or professional and don't feel like "me". My podiatrist says keep with the trainers but 😕

liquidsquidli · 30/09/2024 19:24

Yes plantar fasciitis but I don't use an insole. I do have an orthotic for my arthritis but I don't use it in these but it did fit in another pair of Matalan ones wide fit basic loafers. I'll find them...

If the sketchers heels are too hard try the versions that don’t say they are hands free slip on, I’ve got a pair of bobs trainers and they are really comfy (I have PF too)

I have wide feet and plantar facilitis in one foot and full time teacher here. I have to do on call rotation once a week around our large school site which can cause the plantar facilitis to flare up. I have repeatedly purchased the same boots for the last 3 years. They are soooooo comfy and I end up wearing them out by the time summery shoes come in. I 100% recommend. They are worth the £79in my opinion.
