3 more weeks for me (not that I'm counting haha!). Absolutely manic, as I'm sure all of us are!

However, starting to look towards summer holidays more and I can't bloody wait!

Me, DH and DS(10) at home, DH works for himself so will still work during summer but will also be around at home some days too.

We are off to Austria for the middle 2 weeks which will be lovely.

Not sure what else yet - probably local walks etc and just chilling but it will be so nice!

Anyone else on countdown?! And/or up to anything exciting?

I am hoping to move house before the end of term. Currently been living with my parents - this is our fifth week and it's not ideal. I'm 55 and not lived with them since I was 25. Me & DP are crawling the walls.

Need to move on the 13 th July as we go to Turkey the following weekend so then it will be mid August move date!

Can't get excited for holidays until I know we're moving...,,or not!

Australia sounds exciting!

@BG2015 I really hope you get to move before the summer holidays start!

I love my mum and dad to bits, but I wouldn't want to live with them now. In fairness, they probably wouldn't want to live with me either haha 😆

DH & I are both teachers so Term times are awful but the holidays are amazing. This summer we’re away for the whole 6 weeks as well - cannot wait!

@Icanwalkintheroom 6 weeks away sounds amazing!

Term time in your house must be crazy so enjoy!

3 days left for us!! Independent school

good96 · 01/07/2024 21:40

Two and half weeks and my time at my current school after 21 years will be over.
Moving to another school with my academy trust for the last two years prior to retirement.
Three weeks today and I’ll be on the plane - cannot wait! Going to Cyprus for 3 weeks and I’ll be back just in time for A Level results day!

No money to go away, but lots of things to do around the house.

I've just moved school so everything is new and exhausting; the break will be nice. 3 more weeks to go here and I'm crawling that last stretch.

PumpkinPie2016 · 02/07/2024 19:29

@34and3 enjoy!!

@good96 I hope your new school is nice! It must be a big step to move on after such a long time at one school. Cyprus sounds amazing!

@Elendel moving schools is totally exhausting in my experience! Enjoy the break when it comes!

Me too!

Typically my house sale completes on Monday! I'll be in Turkey so my son will be collecting the keys.

Then, it will be the BIG move.

Enjoy your summer holidays. Whatever you're doing have fun. Relax, recharge

All done for a few weeks, thank goodness. I was crawling towards the finish line and it didn't help I got ill a week ago and still had to go in.

I've already overheard one parent complaining about having to look after their own child for the next 6 weeks IRL, but so far, the moaning threads on here are missing, which is refreshing.

PumpkinPie2016 · 21/07/2024 09:26

@Elendel I also got ill just before term ended but, like you, had to go in, so definitely crawled to the finish line!

So nice to have 6 lovely weeks off ahead though!
