Job Interview but no teaching?!

I've been invited for interview for a part-time (0.5) teaching role - Year 6, mat leave cover. Ideal in terms of hours as I'm planning on doing a part-Time MSc.
Only thing is... they have literally just invited me for interview and not asked me to teach at all? All of the other class teacher interviews I have attended in my career have asked me to do at least 20 mins teaching in the class I would be based in followed by an interview.
Thoughts please?

Maybe they haven't got time to arrange all of the lesson observations. Or maybe the class are a nightmare?

You could always ring and ask them I suppose. Although it's nice not to have to go through all the stress of prep etc it does seem strange.

@BG2015 I did meet the class briefly on my tour of the school and they seemed OK. I'm not really worried if it's a "nightmare" class as I have lots of experience with high level SEMH/SEN needs so not put off by that. 20 years a class teacher so experienced too.
But thank you - I will email the school to clarify.

We have done teaching interviews before without teaching. We get the references from the previous employer.
We especially do this if we have no time and need a quick turnaround on the vacancy.

I contacted the school yesterday 11am and by noon they had sent me an email asking me to deliver a specific 20 min lesson as part of the interview the next morning!! Was teaching all day yesterday so was bit rushed but went OK today I think.
Should I make anything of this re the school? Never known it to be asked at such short notice before!

@BG2015 Exactly! They did apologise for the short notice but still not sure as to why?
