I work as a teaching assistant and I'm thinking to give notice to end the contract 31 of August, I am wondering if I can send the notice letter on 1st of August or should I do it earlier even in my contract is only one month before. I don't want to miss the payment in Aug .

You can send it whenever you want but state when your last day will be.

I wish to resign from my post with my last working day as 31st August 2024.

If you don’t want to send it early send it the last day of July.

Your notice period is the minimum you can give, just resign now and state your final contracted day as 31st August, give the school at least a fighting chance of recruiting a replacement before September.
