Very, very awkward situation...

I left a job a few years ago - because it was frankly hell on earth. I ended up sick and resigning. I did supply for a long while. This school (that I've been in for ages( have offered me a perm position, but new head is good friends with old head. What would you do with that?

They’ve already talked about you if she knows where you used to work. I wouldn’t worry.

You've worked there for ages though? If it was going to cause issues it would have done so long before you were being offered a permanent position.

I'd be more worried that if the old head was the cause of the school being "hell on earth" and the two are good friends, is this new head going to have a similar approach/management style.

I suppose it doesn't really logically follow but that would be my main worry because we do tend to gravitate to friends who are like us.
