ECT job panic

Hi! I am three weeks off finishing my PGCE year and finding it so difficult to get past the initial application stage for a September start. I write each application individually to meet the job specifications but am continually being told that applicants with more experience have applied. I know supply may be the way forward but as a single parent household with a 4 year old starting school I am absolutely terrified of the lack of security I may have on supply, both financially and travel wise in regards to first getting my own child to breakfast club and then travel to work etc. If anyone could please offer some advice on how to improve my applications to be considered for interview I would be so grateful, I have been applying for temporary, permanent, maternity cover and ppa cover. Any advice would be so honestly appreciated! Thank you

What Subject and stage? Also I have managed to be pick up quite a but of cover via a supply agency - if you are flexible about what and when sure that will an option

Primary, preference for key stage 2 but I'd happily do 1 or 2 to get going! Supply is definitely plan B, I'm glad it's there as an option, I just really am worried about if there's inconsistency income wise as a one income family, this year living off student loans and having nursery etc has been such a stretch and I was really hoping the next year would be less of a worry!

Well I'd love a good application from an ECT interested in KS2!
What are your strengths as an ECT? It's great if you can get a school that you know has capacity to support you. In the current climate, your colleagues are likely to be really stretched in the work they have to do and this can put some schools off if they think they can't allocate you a mentor. It's rubbish, I know.
There will be jobs being advertised now as people will have given their notice at the end of May. Keep the faith, keep applying, don't make your application too long, be positive!

You’re in a good position now because you can start in September and all the experienced people will now have to wait until January. So, keep going!
