Does anyone have any experience of managing a Year 1/2 class with no TA? We currently have 2 year 1 classes and 2 year 2 classes but in Sept have been told we need to mix into 3 classes due to numbers. However we won't get TA support, which is a scary prospect.
I'm trying to find some examples of planning which illustrates how a lesson could be managed with year 1 and 2 in the same class if anyone knows of any good sites?
It would be great to know how other teachers manage getting through working with everyone to. In previous years we have worked with classes of 24 children over 2 days (half one day, half the other - the half not working with the teacher are in provision) but now sure how this would work with balancing the main teaches and the group work.
We are just quite unsure how to main the need of the the 2 curriculum at the same time as the year 1 curriculum. I'm possibly thinking the best way to look at it is like just differentiation, but not sure if this is the right way to think about it - the other teachers are not sure and think we need to 2 different main teaches and then the groups as well.
Any experiences or advice would be greatly appreciated.
