SLT impact interview - help

I have been invited for an slt interview next week and one of the tasks is ‘an impact interview on your application form’. What does this mean?! Will it be just questions based on what I’ve written or something else?

I would think they will want to discuss the impact of what you have said you have done, although, I would think you included some detail in the application.

I would gather together any evidence you can showing the impact of your actions.

Good luck!

I would guess it means going through what you've mentioned in your application and givig specific details of how what you have done has had an impact on your team/pupil outcomes.

My advice is don't be shy in the taking the credit: I know someone who didn't get an SLT job recently because he didn't take ownership of the impact he had made (he instead rather selflessly kept referring to what his team did without explaining how he initiated the impact)

Best of luck!

Yes about the impact of the things you have led and managed.

I noticed x so I implemented y to fit with school improvement policy z. Some of the barriers were abc and I overcame them by def. The impact after 1 term / 1 year / after that was …’ As a result other departments also … And the impact has been … From that process I learnt … And next time I implemented … I did these times differently.

EEF implementation guidance is well worth a look if you’re not familiar.

Oh also specifically refer to different disadvantaged groups wherever possible (impact on them).

Good luck!
