I'm browsing job adverts and coming across lots with additional responsibilities, but there are a range of TLRs offered what seems like the same role.

Does anyone know if 2a is higher than 2b, or 2c the highest? Or is this different depending on the school, and will something like a second in faculty or coordinator attract a different amount in different sized school?

A is the lowest in each TLR band.

Yes, 2a is the lower end of the band, 2c is highest, and the size of the school and department is likely to impact quite a bit. A SiC of Science may well get paid more than a HoD of Photography for example. Generally the more staff and students the role is responsible for, the higher the TLR. Coordinator could be used to describe someone who manages a curriculum area, or some who organised extra curricular activities and enrichment, and the latter are likely to get paid the lower TLR. It's worth contacting the school for an informal look around if you can, so you can find out more about the TLRs on offer.

This is for the academic year 22-23 so it’s slightly out of date but it will give you an idea.

You need to compare the job specs carefully as different schools expect different things of their TLR holders. A large core department could have multiple TLR holders who may or may not be described as 2ic. What’s your subject?
