Help me please please please!!! Teacher training interview…. Read a book to the interview panel appropriate for Class 2.

So I am thinking appropriate for 7/8 year olds. Is a chapter book ok? And I just read part of it? Any suggestions? I’m thinking Kevin and the Unicorns?

I’m sooooo nervous!!!

For that age group I would go for a picture book to be honest….
ive had a pgce interview today, similar proposed age group and I chose an Oliver Jeffers book. They seemed to like it!

Hang on, where are you? In English state schools, year 2 is age 6-7. Age 7-8 corresponds to year 3.

I’d also go for a picture book. Literacy Tree Writing Roots have some fantastic choices and you can filter by year group. Off the top of my head, they have The Heart and The Bottle, Small in the City and How to Live Forever as Year 3 texts.

You can also filter by age on Book Trust’s website.
