Question about the UK maths curriculum

I'm not a teacher so hope you don't mind me posting here.

Can anyone tell me at what stage/age-of-child are logarithms taught in UK schools? I understand it might be different between the countries.

The reason I'm asking is long and boring but in a nutshell I don't remember ever coming across logarithms (I didn't take maths further than GCSE) and a friend is telling me it's basic maths I should have covered much younger.

In England at least, logarithms are an A level topic.

Thank you!

Since calculators came into school in the 1980s, they've been less relevant.

In the 1980s I had a log book.

It is not GCSE, it's year 1 A Level
