Gifts

My Year 11 class have been with me for 5 years. I'm making them all gifts this year as a little farewell. Star shaped hanging decoration with their names stamped in, homemade fudge, homemade lip balm.

I have 3 Muslim pupils in my class - would I cause offence or do something wrong to give them the same?

I don't think so. If I was in a predominantly Muslim country and was gifted something traditional from Islamic culture I'd be delighted.

It would cause far more offence if you excluded them from your gifts! It will be no problem at all. I would be careful to check if any children were Jehovah’s Witnesses and make sure that there was nothing overtly Christmassy on their gift or card as I have a child very politely return a card to me once.
