If you work in a private secondary how many hours contact the do you have a week? And how many prep hours?
I do 10 hrs a week contact time. The rest of the time I am support staff. I am only paid at teacher rate for ten hours. No paid time for prep. I’ve been told I can take time from my support role to prep/ mark etc. but That would be paid at tech rate. Now I’m expected to do parents evening/ open days/ help with after school activities. Unpaid. I know if I had a teacher salary it’d be in my contract that I do these things- but I haven’t been given a new contract and I’m only getting 10 hrs pay anyway. I suspect 10hrs is 0.4 maybe? Do you think this is accurate?
