Interview lesson help!

Emma25664 · 14/10/2023 05:24

I have an interview for a year1/2 class. I have to give a 45 minute language lesson. Mixed ability groups. Maybe I'm just overthinking things but i am currently in a blind panic. I keep thinking of various activities to do but can't settle on anything. Any ideas for starting points would be gratefully received.

Thank you.

I would stop thinking about ‘activities’ and start thinking about ‘aims’. Choose something where you can show some clear progress. By ‘language’ do you mean English or MFL?

If it’s English, for example, your aim could be to improve their verb choices, or to use interesting adjectives. Start with a quick baseline piece (three sentences to describe this room?), show them some interesting examples of descriptive writing, do some activities, repeat the initial activity, with an outcome that’s clearly better than the first.

Does that help?
