im head of a key stage in a special school and my mind has gone fuzzy blank from the holidays!
i want to start the term feeling super organised for both myself and my colleagues in my dept.
All planning is done, assembly lost done with what each weeks assembly theme is etc.
What else would you be doing to prepare, or if a classroom teacher, what would you like your HoD to have ready to support you?

I'd like my hod to have written the schemes of work we were promised LAST September.
If wishes were horses...

I'm a HoD (mainstream secondary, so some of this may not apply!)

Our planning is in place as we do collaborative planning.

I have done the main printing for the first 2 weeks.

Department handbook is updated and printed.

All books/stationery are organised, ready to give out on INSET day.

All homework and retrieval quizzes written for the first term (will do term 2 during this term).

Department action plan is done and ready to share so we all know what our T&L focus is.

I have tried to do whatever I can to make their lives as easy as possible. Not saying I have it all right, but certainly done my best for them.
