Hello, if you are offered a job on the leadership scale do you move up the scale every year like the main teacher pay scale? So if you get a job on L11 will you be given L12 the next year?

There will be a range for the position- so it may be advertised as L9-L11. You would generally start on L9. Movement up the scale depends on your performance management reviews, it make take a year, may be 2 or more to move up from L9-L11. But once you get to L11, that's it. You then just get the cost of living increases negotiated.

Yes, you move up one point within the range (L9 - LX) each year.
L9 (2023/24)
L10 (2024/25) and so on.

Not quite. Progression up the leadership scale is still based on performance criteria and isn't automatic.( STPC 11.2)

Yes, I should have said based on the outcome of your appraisal.

Yes, based on the outcome of your appraisal you move up. There will be a range for the job. For AHTs it’s usually a six point range (mine is L13-L18). Once you hit the top of your range that’s where you stay, although there is an option to apply for a further 3 point extension on your pay range when you hit the top of it where I am. Nobody has done that for a while. Our AHTs are either veterans who applied for the extension years ago or people appointed in the last 5 years who haven’t hit the top of our scales yet.
