OH referral

I have long covid, I got covid the first time in March 2020 (well no tests then but very ill with covid symptoms) the illest I have ever been. Less to PE about 4 months later which thankfully cleared with blood thinners. I had fatigue and breathlessness following that but was getting better then caught covid again June 2022 which set everything back.

School was aware from Jan 21, I tried to keep everything going (too much pride and thinking I was superwoman) but did have to let them know it was getting to me.

I was referred to OH in March - apparently I needed to ask for a referral, which I didn’t know about so hadn’t. The appointment has only just come through for a couple of weeks time.

I don’t really know what to expect so wondered if anyone has had an occupational health assessment for teaching and how it went? Do I need to provide solutions and if so what solutions are reasonable?

I really don’t know where to start and feel a fraud and that I am letting my colleagues down.

Just giving this a bump - anyone with experience with occupational health and teaching?

Am watching with interest @OhBeAFineGuyKissMe I am about to be referred to our local long covid clinic.

I've been on a phased return this half term, having been off since Easter. HR have said I cannot continue with phased return after the summer holidays and expect me back full time. This is despite me having a fit note from my GP saying that I needed longer than the 'allowed' 4 weeks!

HR have also said they will refer me to OH. I have no idea how this could help unless they can magic me up more energy ....

Be interested to see if anyone has any experience to share. Have a restful summer.

I have been discharged from the long covid clinic - not because I’m back to how I was but because there isn’t anything more they can do. I have done the breathing exercises and I know I am supposed to pace myself (that doesn’t really fit with teaching). Just a case of time.

Someone must have had an occupational health assessment that can give some advice?
