Strange accusations

Today, at lunchtime I was told student wasn’t in my group due to being moved out as her dad does not like me. Neither does the child. They think I cannot teach and I’m awful.

I later approached manager and said this is the second child to be moved. This is unusual as no one else has moved kids. I must say I started out firm but I’m fine now. Apparently they kept manager out the conversation because they didn’t need to update him at all and they felt he might stress me out so they didn’t tell him a word so he in turn wouldn’t stress me out.

The headteacher found me at lunch and went to find my manager and sat me down and explained everything and I said I’ve done my utmost and there was nothing more I could have done.

The head then said “while I have you here there were 2 more things, the other day you said a child’s cardigan was colourful and she was very upset, secondly she wasn’t happy you filled in a form about her lack of punctuality.” I later said the form was given by slt so I just do my job and the cardigan thing, well it’s benign. The head also said there was no issues with it and it was parked and that when walking past my lessons, was really happy.

Manager in the meeting didn’t talk and said “no point me involving myself when I know no one wants my opinion. No one bothers telling me anything anyway” I literally have no idea what to do with myself. Later on my manager said “bit odd no complaints are made about me when I make off hand comments but when it’s you they start we know what it’s rooted in”(I’m a poc)

I think I’m just in a state of confusion and need some advice on how I navigate this whole issue. I feel utterly lost. Do I book I meeting with the HT and speak on a 1:1 basis about this issue as obviously I’d like to know where the issues are rooted or do I just leave it?

Strange indeed!🙁

How do you get on with the manager ?
What does the manager look like?
What does the head look like?
Does your school have a good or toxic vibe?

Situations like this are designed to protect and safeguard you ... Not just the student. By the student moving out of your class they can't make any more complaints against you like being upset my mentioning the colour of their jumper. I don't know why it's bothering you so much.

Your manager sounds worse than useless!

I don't understand why the cardigan comment wasn't shot down immediately. It becomes impossible to teach when you can't make any small talk with children. It sounds like a rubbish situation all round OP. If you're not happy about it, go back to the head.
