Hi, I had my first teaching interview last week after 10 years of being in the same school. I feel out of touch with the whole interview process tbh. I didn't get the job last week and from the feedback I received, the headteacher said that I should bring a lesson plan with me to my next interview. Is this the done thing?
Is there anything else your would put into an interview lesson observation?
Thank you

Yes, it's the done thing to provide a lesson plan, and usually any resources you are going to use in advance. It's also usual to ask if there are any additional needs etc in the class in advance, so that you can plan and cater for them- as well as asking student numbers etc.

There's nothing specific I would put into a lesson observation- they are so varied in length/topic it's hard to say you must put X specific thing in. And I think it's important to use activities you are confident in.

Make sure you plan for the kids to have made some progress and that you demonstrate checking for that progress. What should they know, understand or be able to do by the time you are done?
