Head of year interview...help!

Hi all. I am interviewing this week for a head of year position.

One of the possible questions might be about difficult decision making. As a teacher, i haven't really got experience of leading staff or making tough decisions. Has anyone got any examples/ideas I can arm myself with? I have tons of ideas and can answer most other sample questions but I am stuck on this.

Thank you.😊

I think for decision making you would link lots of things to school rules and policies. Also you would perhaps talk it over with others in the pastoral team.
You may get a task linked to a difficult phone call or have to draft an email. I would think it's all about a consistent approach to all students. Safeguarding, safeguarding, safeguarding!
Good luck

Thank you.

I feel like none of it is sinking in, even stuff I know, I know.

I mean if they ask me to recall a time I've had to make a difficult decision. It's tricky as I don't have that experience.

Ah well, what will be will be.

Not sure if I'm too late but have you worked with any LSAs? As I'm sure that could be used as an example for leading a team, maybe?
