About to have stage 1 sick meeting and I'm sick! Lost my voice and coughing away, due in tomorrow- striking today. Do I go in ?

If you're too sick to work, no

Postapocalypticcowgirl · 03/03/2023 17:58

If you don't feel well enough to work, you shouldn't go in. You'll only end up making yourself more ill, which will be worse long term.

As you're striking, I'm assuming you're in a union? Do you have a rep in school? Have you spoken to them about the meeting at all?

Bronzeisthecolour · 04/03/2023 12:37

Thanks, feeling lots better but no voice. No union rep in my school.

You can contact your regional rep.

What is happening moving forward?

Bronzeisthecolour · 05/03/2023 09:17

Not sure whats happening, I've never been down this route before. Honestly I'm looking to leave the position and I nearly went to Dr before half term to be signed off sick. Instead I took 3 days off as I just couldn't go back in. Things have improved slightly but I think I'm done. Meeting moved to Monday so will see.

OK. Did they send you a copy of the sickness absence policy? Also you can have a colleague or union representative with you.

Bronzeisthecolour · 05/03/2023 13:45

Thank you, yes they gave me a copy of the policy. I'll go tomorrow and see how it goes. Its my deputy head doing it.
