Do recruitment consultant work part-time hours?

I am thinking of becoming a recruitment consultant. But, the hours seem really long. Sometimes 10 hours a day. Can you opt for fewer hours with a pay cut? I am talking about working 8 hours instead of 10.

It somehow doesn't seem the right career for you if before you even start, you're trying to reduce the hours...
It seems to me that they probably work long hours so they can see clients before and after their current jobs. I'm sure every job is different though.

They are very difficult people to get a hold of from my experience. Not sure it that is down to being part-time or simply busy.
