Return from mat leave

I’m due to return from mat leave in a few months time. Prior to going on mat leave I worked part time, Monday - Wednesday. After speaking to the head teacher, he has said when I return I have to work Wednesday - Friday. Can they just change my work days like that? I’m not sure what my rights are. TIA

What does your contract say? Specific days or just 0.6 over 3 days (guessing that’s what you’re on) - if it is the former then, they can’t really change it without consulting you first. If it’s the latter, then yes they can but it would be prudent to speak with you first.
Have you expressed concerns with HT?

This is one for your union rep, really, as it depends on your contract and how they have treated other staff in the past.

Are the new days impossible, or are you just annoyed by the change with no consultation (which is totally valid)?

What does your contract say? And has anything been out in writing or is it all just verbal?
