Good evening,
I wondered if anyone has experience of going on maternity when on a fixed one year contract? My contract is due to end in July and I know they won’t renew it if they find out I’m pregnant or even thinking about getting pregnant. Can anyone advise me on what my maternity rights to pay are if I was to get pregnant before my contract ends?

@Eucalyptus321 I'm in a similar position. What happened to you? Did you get mat pay?

@Puccini1900 I got pregnant early enough in the year - I’m going on mat leave at Christmas so that I will get my maternity allowance before my contract ends. They have also changed the law though so you’re protected from losing your job until you’re child is 18 months so I wonder if this applies to fixed contracts?
