HLTA/Changing Jobs Quickly

I have recently taken up a position supporting pupils with the ultimate aim to get them back into the classroom. I start in January.. It is fixed term initially for 2.5 years. I will enjoy this role but it will be a challenge.

The thing is a job has come up at another school where part of it is class support and part of it is HLTA covering PPA. It is a permanent job.

I would love to do this role as I would potentially then be able to complete a PGCE at said school.

Is it really bad to pop an application in for the other job? I know I would have to mention it to the head of current school.

Also has anybody been a HLTA? Do you/did you enjoy it?

Thanks for the reply. That is what I think too.

That said I left an awful job before and am going back into school for first time in a few years. ( was in similar field) am feeling nervous now.
