Decorating your room

To add a bit of festive cheer, in what otherwise is a tough year, now there is 2 or 3 weeks til the Christmas break I thought I would ask about any plans to decorate your class rooms at all?

I am thinking a Lego Christmas tree (mainly because I love building Lego, and maybe some other bits and pieces. I will get my tutor group to decorate the room for me.

In my school there is a Christmas Tree in the main hall and there is also one in the entrance. I leave it down to the individual teachers if they want to decorate their rooms as long as they don’t go over the top with them - tree and tinsel/lights around the whiteboard etc. Teachers also pay for these themselves and therefore can take them home or store them away for following years.
There is simply no budget for individual decs….

We decorated after school last week. Lots of tinsel and sparkly bits, but a really effective, easy one was using green/red border roll. We twisted it and hung from middle of classroom out to the corners. It looks so lovey, and was so quick, cheap and easy! I’d never seen it used like that before and was super impressed!

I always make a chemistree in my lab, have my own couple of strings of battery lights and then fill test tubes and boiling tubes with different coloured solutions.

My big tough lads in the exclusion unit loved decorating on Friday. For many of them it's the only decs they'll see. They will resist doing any maths but making paperchains and pinning tinsel up was a joy! Never seen them cooperate so well!

I brought all the decs in myself.

That is lovely to hear. Everyone needs a bit of sparkle in their lives.
