In a special needs school.At start of autumn term joined a brand new class of 4 students. The teacher didn't start for whatever reason and I was asked to deliver the lessons planned by a teacher till we had a teacher. 0.6 teacher joined half term.I have covered the other 0.4 days but in January we have 2 more students joining the class both with very challenging behaviour.We have another teacher interviewing for the 0.4 hour job this week but I have said whatever the outcome 6 students will be too much for me from January.

Other staff have praised me for everything I have done and parents can see improvements in their children.However I still feel I have failed. I am still on paper a level 2 ta awaiting regrading following yearly appraisal which I got highly exceeding in everything.
Advice or kind words please.

The fact that you have had positive feedback from colleagues and parents demonstrates that you have done a good job. What has the feedback been like from your line manager?
Have you had a conversation with them in regards to what happens come January? Are these applicants that have interviewed this week available to start in January - with notice periods there might be a delay.

@good96
I return to a ta .The candidate is a supply teacher somewhere else so can start straight away.
Feed back from management is postive with a request for higher grading and banding but awareness that it was never to be forever.
We have just undergone Ofsted so one of the recommendations was more higher Ta and progression path so hopefully things will follow.
