Is the heating on?

My school is freezing! There is no heat on at all! I know heating costs have gone up so we probably need to be economical with the heat but how can they justify not heating the school at all- we are almost at December! Some rooms, especially rooms like the library and hall that don't have a full class in them, are too cold for me to sit in to do intervention groups without my coat on. The head tried to tell me that the radiators had been on earlier and I just hadn't noticed. They definitely had not!!

Yes, our heating is on but it's definitely at a lower setting.
To be fair, for the past two years, it has generally been boiling in my classroom because we were meant to open the windows for five minutes every 20 minutes.

Yes, it's been freezing in school since 2020 as the head insisted we had all the doors and windows open all the time!!! Now that rule has gone, it seems the heating is just off which I think is to keep costs down obviously- but it's the denial that the heating is off that's annoying. I might understand more if she showed some sympathy and explained when it would be on or off but pretending it's been on? Isn't that a form of gaslighting?

Yeah, our heating is on but there isn't any on the top two floors. It has been 12 degrees in the labs! We have some plug in oil radiators that we wheel from room to room that do help a lot. We are only here temporarily so don't see any investment coming.

Strange as to why it isn’t on this time of year. Although it is an increasing ‘cost’ it is for the welfare of students and staff.
The heating is on a timer in my school, comes on at 7.30am and goes off at 5pm as a number of after school clubs take place as well as staff still being on site.
