SEN school hours

Hello.

I looked around an SEN school a few years ago and was lead to believe that teachers left by 3pm most days if not everyday.

It just got me thinking how realistic is that? Surely all the resourcing and planning for so many needs would leave you to need more time?

Some teachers have their own childcare commitments- they’ll most likely be working from home in the evening?

Very true.

It's childcare commitments I'm thinking about now. If I made the move, I think I would want to go full time. Have no issues working at home later in the evening. But I know realistically, it can be harder to get out than first thought.

That must be one specific school though? Do they start and finish earlier? One local SEMH school I know starts at 8am and finishes at 2pm (I think) so that would be possible. But most I know the kids go home at 3.10-3.30 so no way would you be going home.
Also, you can't go home until your last child is collected and school transport is notoriously unreliable. I've stayed in school until 5pm many, many times when children aren't collected.

SEN school here. 3 nights a week ots a 5pm finish. 2 days it's any time after 3:30pm

Thank you. I didn't think it was quite realistic. Of course there is the children with transport to think about.
