I wonder if someone could help me please? I'm in a debate with a colleague regarding ownership and responsibility of the single central record. I've worked in two MAT's and been a governor for a LA school and the SCR has always been the remit of someone of at least the level of school business manager but preferably the Head. When Ofsted call, they expect to be shown this and will ask questions about it and I would assume they would expect the Head to know the answers.
My colleague says it was the responsibility of the school admin at her previous school. They would ensure the SCR was up to date, and would be expected to sit with Ofsted and not the Head (presumably, this meant the Head wouldn't know what was on the SCR).
Surely this can't be right? I'm a school admin and I'm on just over minimum wage (after my wages are pro rata'd for the school holidays). I wouldn't want that level of responsibility and surely Ofsted wouldn't expect to be sitting discussing that sort of thing with admins staff rather than SLT?
