Should I assume no interview?

Hi

I applied for an SLT position at another school. I’ve been at my current school for 15 years, and obviously each school is different in how they handle shortlisting and interviews. The deadline was Monday lunchtime. I haven’t heard anything. Would you say I should have heard by now? At my school they decide and contact candidates within a couple of days and interview the week after. But this school said in the application pack that the interview isn’t until October 14th, so it may be a case of taking their time deciding? I did speak to admin there about a totally unrelated issue on Wednesday and checked while I was on if shortlisting had happened and it hadn’t. What happens at your schools? Shall I give up? Thanks!

Shortlisting always takes longer than they say. I would say it's totally normal not to hear until the week/a few days before interview

Crikey. It’s two weeks until the interview! That’s a lot of hanging around waiting. Even SLT interviews at my place are done a week after deadline. We don’t hang around so I’m not used to this
