Nursery classes attached to main school

Hi,

We have had a change of leadership in school and early years recently and was wondering if anyone can clarify if a nursery class is capped for numbers?
we used to have a limit of 26 children in a class but now new management have no idea about this even being a thing and are letting more than that into our class.
I have looked around online and can only seem to find something in the old eyfs.

My understanding, if a teacher is in charge, is that the ratio is 1:13 - so 26, (or 39 / 52 is you have the extra adults) at a time.
