How to use booster session?

If you had 2 hours once a week with 24 children Year 3 - 6, to cover PPA and focus on maths booster, how would you use it? Really struggling to find something that is able to cater for all the year groups and trying to do individually is so difficult! We've done maths puzzles, code busters, times table games... I'm out of ideas and have another year ahead of it 😭

Have you had any joy with ideas for this yet? My best suggestion is to download the teacher guide for the multiplication cards here: www.funkeymaths.com/howtouse/

It gives you a really clear step by step progression through multiplication which could be really good for you to work through with your group. If you can scrounge a little bit of money to buy some of the times tables cards so much the better as then you can play the games and do the investigations suggested, but even if you don't have the cards, the teacher guide has links to ppts and worksheets you can use. There are also suggestions for how you could use the older pupils as peer mentors for the younger ones.

Good luck!! A two hour booster session once a week sounds like my idea of hell - half an hour 4 days a week would have so much more impact!

So is it a Y3-6 class and you're basically doing extra maths in PPA time? Or is it children pulled from different classes? And if so what sort of difficulty level are they?
