I keep reading about the various options. Are they changing? They can't make us do more directed hours can they?

Honestly, at the moment, I wouldn't worry.

I've heard this a few times - not just this year but in previous years. Nothing has ever changed.

Will it this time? Maybe, maybe not, but at the moment, we can't do anything about it and a lot of it will be just people giving their opinion.

This has come up numerous times over year and it never actually happens.

The contract says 1265 hours spread over 195 days.

Having said that, in the era of academies I'm not sure whether that counts for much.

I've heard this since I started teaching 20 years ago and it hasn't happened yet! I wouldn't worry about it.

What have you read and where?

In my 21 years of teaching, this has always been a rumour
