I am leaving mainstream teaching after 20 years and going into alternative provision. I've done a decade in secondary and then a decade in uks2primary.

I have SO MUCH STUFF!
I will be in secondary AP so I am really unsure as to what I will need. I currently have:
A decades worth of uks2 fiction books I bought- lots from basic ks2 reads to noughts and crosses etc
A decades worth of book corner browse books - ripleys etc
Tons of teaching cpg etc books for maths and literacy yr 1- 6
My old ks3 and ks4 stuff about curriculum
Exam marking stuff for ocr and aqa for a level
moderation stuff for both ks4 and ks2 (trained for both)
A ton of stuff I had for quiet time like coloring, doodle books etc
My book corner rugs and cushions

I feel like I either dump it all or give up! Help me!

You may need some of the colouring stuff.
I'd ditch the exam board stuff and any out of date cgp stuff.
I landed up chucking my collected reading books into the school library but I'd keep those handy as listening to reading may well be a thing.
I'd ditch the ks3 and 4 stuff older than four or five years.
I've just chucked a load of stuff that I took with me from Secondary English when I became a SENCO. I find I seldom look for a text book now - google is my best friend!

Anything related to the old primary curriculum should just be chucked. It's so easy to get decent digitised work now related to the current curriculum that most old workbooks are just useless.

I feel you! I’m moving house after 16 years here and am staring at four huge boxes form when I did my PGCE 18 years ago!! There are around 10 lever arch binders which just need to go to the recycling centre and another huge box of resources and idea/CPG type books which I’m also going to dump.

I took a full bag of teaching books to the recycling centre yesterday. It felt scary but good! once it’s all gone it’s quite a release!
