I'm an English teacher and we are rejigging how and when we assess students. Just curious to ask what the arrangements are in your own schools?
For example, how often do you formally assess? Do you include a data capture after this assessment?
Specifically for English teachers, how are you required to assess? Different colour pens? Handwritten comments required? I am aware that guidelines from any inspectorate (Ofsted or Estyn or others) do not state that one method of feedback is better than others.
Would be grateful to hear what it's like for you.
Does anybody actually feel like their workload is manageable?
