Paperwork in new roles

Hello, does anyone have any idea around how long it takes to receive paperwork for a new role once accepted? Can it take a little while to be processed in terms of awaiting references etc?

You wouldn't get a contract from us before the summer. Depends on the school

So when a role is accepted for a September start, the paperwork could be coming through early September ?

Contracts always take ages, but I’d expect an offer letter within a few days of the interview, then sometimes additional paperwork (occupational health, etc) within a week or so.

Thank you. I was wondering how long it would be but didn’t want to pester them and ask. I haven’t had the letter nor the contract as yet. I was meant to have it yesterday I think.

i figured I’d let it get to the end of next week and I might follow up. Mainly as there’s no offer letter yet which worried me.

Have never had a contract before starting a teaching job and even then sometimes only after I've badgered someone.

Is it worth badgering maybe. I was told there’s a training day in May I could maybe ask if I haven’t got it before then?

Please don't badger. You got the job a week ago, I think. Things take time. Schools are busy places. Give it a fortnight at least.

I would insist on it before September. I always make sure I have mine before I start. Yes, they take a while but they are important.

WibblyWobblyLane · 12/06/2022 20:18

We sent out our contract Friday for the September starter. Their interview was about 4 weeks ago.
