Do you use any holiday clubs over the summer holidays etc to get your work done or do you do it when dc around/ at night?

We do a bit - mainly because the dc enjoy them & also gives us time to get on with things or just spend some time together without the dc (dh & I both teach).

They probably go for maybe 5 days total in the summer depending on what else we’re doing.

This holiday 1 did 3 days somewhere with a friend & the other did 2 days somewhere else.

Ok thanks,we do too but another friend commented about it being a waste and selfish.... just made me wonder.

@Silverbirch2 that’s ridiculous. Apart from anything my dc love the chance to do a few days at holiday club - it would be sad if they never got the opportunity. Some ‘friend’ you’ve got there. Ignore them and do what’s right for you & yours.

Thanks, true, my kids love it, just wondered whether I was being lazy!

DS will be going to holiday club for the final week of the summer holidays because I will have to work. (We've got our training and preparation week at that time.)
I didn't do work during the Easter break because we were away for the two weeks, so no need for holiday clubs.
Surely that's what they are for...?

I send ds to a club for a week somewhere, usually drama/science/craft related as he loathes the typical sports based clubs.
I do this partly to get my work done and partly because I know that once he gets there he'll absolutely love it.

How weird that a so-called friend is trying to make you feel bad about it, it's fine and none of her business:
