Quick question - shortlisting

Just wondering...

You apply for a teaching job, how would you expect to hear whether or not you've been shortlisted?
Email, text, letter, phone call, etc.

Usually by email

You don’t necessarily hear if you are not shortlisted. I think this is incredibly rude, but sadly very common.

Usually by email. My last job, they rang me but I think that was because a week after deadline, I still hadn't heard anything so I called them but they hadn't even started shortlisting at that point. I've never heard back from jobs I've not got through to interview for.

I've heard back via email. I've only applied to a few jobs though.

Phone or email but not if you haven’t been shortlisted.
